Updates to the Book Module – Lightroom Classic CC v7.5

Adobe has not made many changes recently to the book module so it is good to see it getting some more love. The new features include:

New Book types – Blurb Magazine & Blurb Trade Book. These are additional to the standard Photo books, providing less expensive options.

New Paper type – Lay Flat Spreads will enable a single image to be spread across both left and right pages. Ideal for panoramas or for combining with text.

Customized Pages & Photo/Text cells - this is a much requested feature and I’m pleased that we can now make our own custom page layouts and save them as favorites.

I have made a short video demo at YouTube:

Border Slider – this has been added to the cell panel. It enables a solid border to be added to photo cells and for the color to be changed using the color picker after clicking on the color chip to the right of the slider, in the cells panel.

Pause & Resume upload to Blurb server – this enables more control when uploading a completed book order.

This option is available through expanded Progress Bar.

Facebook

Facebook have now withdrawn the ability to upload images from Publish Services in Lr Classic and other desktop applications. Upload is still possible from mobile devices where the handshake between approved apps and the Facebook server is readily available. To enable customers to keep track of previously published work, Adobe re-enabled access to Facebook Published Service Collections for a temporary time period. This will permit the manual transfer to standard collections. Publishing capabilities will remain disabled. Please go to this link:

Automatic Transfer to Regular Collections

My ACP colleague John Beardsworth has designed a script to automate the process. I’ve not tried it personally as I’m not a Facebook user but others have found it to be simple and effective.
