Lightroom Releases – December 2019

This is mainly a quick update following the November release including support for new cameras and lenses. It also includes bug fixes and addresses some issues which have arisen since the Apple release of MacOS Catalina. In addition to Lightroom 3.1 and Lightroom Classic 9.1 Adobe has also released version 5.1 of the mobile apps.

New Features

Easily contribute photos to shared albums – when invited to share an album it is now possible to add your own photos to shared group albums as well as viewing all contributions. This feature is available on the desktop, mobile and web app. In the desktop version 3.1 shared albums will be found by clicking the tab for sharing & connections - see image below.

Shared albums can be set as the target album, making it easy to contribute by selecting thumbnails from the grid; to add them to the target simply by pressing the T key. Invitees can add “likes” and “comments” in a web browser.

Direct Import (iOS) - import directly from an SD card or other attached media after connecting to your iPhone or iPad. This feature requires iOS or iPadOS 13.2 or later.

Advanced Export Options (iOS) - Tap the Share icon to find this and other export and sharing options.
