Freeform Panel in Premiere Pro

The freeform panel lets you organize and assemble your videos by dragging and using keyboard shortcuts for in and out points. It’s also possible to set color tags and poster frames to quickly identify segments for building into a sequence.

Check out the three tutorials and download the free Adobe Stock clips to experiment with layouts.

Creative Cloud Offer

Adobe is offering a discount on subscriptions to Creative Cloud for UK customers. But hurry, as the offer only lasts until 8th July.  Other regions may have their own promotions.

Lightroom Comes to the App Store

Adobe has announced it is releasing Lightroom inside the Mac App Store today. The Mac App Store (MAS) build contains the same features as the current Lightroom version 2.3 (May 2019) release.

This should appeal to many Mac users who have not yet discovered the cloud version of Lightroom or those who are familiar with Apple’s MAS sandboxing and privacy requirements.

Nik Collection 2

DxO have announced their latest update, Nik Collection 2 which comes with 10 new en-vogue presets (filters) for Color FX Pro, Silver FX Pro, Analogue Fx and 12 for HDR effects. A total of 42 new en-vougue presets. They come bundled with DxO Photo Lab 2.3, but only the Essential Edition.  DxO is offering a discount to existing customers who purchase before the end of June. The only drawback for me is that Fujifilm X-Trans raw files are not supported.

How to use the Same Photo Twice in a Single Album

A recent question asked if was possible to use the same photo twice in a single album but in different positions, using Photoshop Elements.

Yes it can be done but you need to create a duplicate photo. Select your thumbnail and go to the Organizer menu and choose:
File >> Export As New Files

Save a copy to your pictures folder or wherever you prefer. Go to your folder after export and re-name the file. I usually add -2 to the original name. Then import into Organizer and drag it into your album. If you set the sort order to “Album Order” you can drag each image into a fixed position. See images below.

Albums are a bit like playlists for your favourite songs.  It is possible to have the same photo in multiple albums but not multiple times in the same album.
