In older versions of Elements the Magic Extractor was
available which gave mixed results. With the foreground brush it was necessary
to paint in red over an object to be removed. In a similar manner the
background brush was used to paint in blue. This tool was removed many years
ago to make way for newer technology and a switch to 64 bit applications. I think
the last time I saw the Magic Extractor tool was in PSE version 10.
I’m pleased to let you know that a new object removal
guided edit has been added to the latest version Photoshop Elements 2020. This
is much easier to use and the magic is performed using Adobe’s content aware
technology.
